- Description
- The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) intends to award a sole source contract, under the authority of FAR Part 6.302-1, with ViaSat, Inc., 1725 Breckinridge Plaza, Duluth, GA, to provide continuing maintenance services for a 5.4 meter antenna and radio frequency (RF) equipment at the Earth Resources Observation and Science (EROS) Data Center, Sioux Falls, SD. The USGS has identified ViaSat, Inc. as the only provider of services able to meet the requirements of this procurement. ViaSat has no authorized dealers or maintenance providers for the 5.4 antenna and RF equipment, and technical documentation is listed as confidential and proprietary in nature. The Government anticipates awarding a single contract for a one year Base Period plus four option years. The anticipated award date is on or about July 1, 2011. The USGS requires a firm fixed priced commercial service contract. The Product Service Code is J058 and the North American Industrial Classification System (NAICS) code is 811213 with a size standard of $7.0M. This procurement will be accomplished under FAR Part 12 Commercial Procedures. Interested firms may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirements. THIS NOTICE OF INTENT IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE PROPOSALS. A determination by the Government not to compete this acquisition based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
