- Description
- Hill AFB, UT plans to award a sole source contract to Neoteric Hovercraft for two 100 HP Liquid Cooled Fuel Injected 3 cylinder Hirth aircraft engines. Neoteric will install the engines on Hill AFB's existing hovercraft, perform repairs to damaged fiberglass panels, modify existing components to work with the new engines and provide on-site hovercraft training. Neoteric produced the hovercraft and have mounting/installation unique to their reverse thrust-capable hovercraft. The Neoteric engine fan blades are unique to this craft spinning at 8000+ rpm within 1/16" of the cowling. Any unplanned shaking, vibration, or failure of substituted parts could cause the blade to come in contact with the cowling and disintegrate.
