- Rebuild of PGC Model 1800DHV Gearbox for Dresden Island Lock and Dam's lower miter gate gear box. Rebuild shall consist of bearing replacement, HS input shaft shall be replaced, LS output shaft shall be repaired, HS pinion shall be replaced, 1st intermediate gear shall be repaired, 2nd Intermediate gear shall be replaced, worm shaft shall be replaced and repaired, the interior and exterior of the housings and covers shall be cleaned, sandblasted, primed, and painted, bores shall be cleaned and dressed, bearing cartridge OD shall be metalized and ground to required drawing specifications, the ID shall be machined to drawing specifications, all seals shall be replaced, all gaskets shall be replaced, all o-rings shall be replaced, Switch-Tripping Pins in the Torque Control Assembly shall be replace including new o-rings, the missing limit switch from the torque control assembly shall be replaced, the Bellville washers in the torque control assembly shall be replaced, all lubrication piping and components shall be replaced, and all locating pins, nuts, bolts, and washers shall be replaced. The US Army Corps of Engineers, Rock Island District, intends to procure this requirement on a sole source basis in accordance with the statutory of 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1) as implemented by FAR 6.302-1, Only One Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Service Will Satisfy Agency Requirements. The US Army Corps of Engineers, Rock Island District, intends to enter into a firm, fixed-price contract with Philadelphia Gearbox, 8529 W 192nd Street, Mokena, IL 60448. The NAICS code for this procurement is 333612 with a size standard not to exceed 500 employees. THIS NOTICE IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE QUOTES and no solicitation will be issued; however, any small-business firm that believes it can meet the requirement may give written notification to the Contracting Officer. Supporting evidence must be furnished in sufficient detail to demonstrate the ability to comply with the requirement listed. A determination by the government not to compete this proposed contract based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
