- Redacted J&A for N00019-11-G-0001 The Naval Air Systems Command awarded Engineering Change Proposal, ECP-6193R2, 'FT50 Leading Edge Extension Retrofit at Y286 and Y294', as a Firm Fixed Pirce (FFP) delivery order under the Basic Ordering Agreement (BOA), N00019-11-G-0001 to The Boeing Company of St. Louis, Missouri, on a sole source basis. The purpose of this ECP is to resolve leading edge extension closure cracks. Correcting this condition will consist of replacing a section of the left and right leading edge extension closures. This will require the acquisition of retrofit non-recurring engineering, retrofit recurring engineering for tooling, and the purchase of 144 retrofit kits for the repair of 72 aircraft. The Boeing Company is the sole designer, developer, and manufacturer of the F/A-18 Aircraft and is the only source with the knowledge, expertise, facilities, and qualified personnel necessary to accomplish this effort within the schedule requirements.
