Description
1. INTRODUCTION: This sources sought notice is for information and planning purposes only and shall not be construed as a solicitation or as an obligation on the part of the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). The VA is currently conducting market research to locate qualified, experienced and interested potential sources. Responses will not be considered as proposals, nor will any award be incurred by interested parties in responding to this sources sought announcement. The VA Maine Healthcare System is seeking interested sources for a near-future solicitation and procurement. At this time, no solicitation exists. 2. BACKGROUND: The Togus VA Medical Center located at 1 VA Center, Augusta, ME 04330 currently disposes of solid waste by transporting it to a nearby landfill in Augusta, ME. The VA currently uses its own employees and garbage truck to transport and dispose of the trash at the disposal facility. Quantities of solid waste can vary widely from week to week. This DOES NOT include any biomedical or hazardous waste. 3. OBJECTIVES: The VA Medical Center at Togus, ME is looking for SDVOSB and VOSB contractors that can provide solid waste disposal solutions. This can include, but is not limited to, the following solutions: "Landfill ownership in the central Maine area "Contractor who can provide waste pick-up and transport "The VA is open to other innovative solutions as well and would welcome recommendations from the industry. 4. SUBMITTAL INFORMATION: Contractors having the skills and capabilities necessary to perform the stated requirements should submit a response as detailed below. Companies should provide clear and unambiguous evidence to substantiate their capability to fulfill these requirements. Please highlight what your system would be to dispose of the waste. Interested parties shall furnish the following minimum information: 1. Company name and address 2. Company point of contact name, telephone number and email address 3. Evidence that company is a certified SDVOSB or VOSB (or in the process of certification), the number of years in business, affiliate information: parent company, joint venture partners, potential teaming partners. 4. If the company holds a Federal Supply Schedule (FSS) Contract, list the GSA Contract Number and SINs 5. Capabilities/Qualifications: A written response providing clear and unambiguous evidence to substantiate the capacity to fulfill this requirement. Description of the capabilities/qualifications/skills your company possesses to perform services described in the scope of work. Please focus on your company's recommendation for accomplishing the objectives listed above. 6. Past Experience: Brief summary of the company history relative to similar requirements. Offer may provide the following information on a maximum of three similar projects for which the responder was a prime or subcontractor. It is requested that the above information be provided no later than May 15th, 2011 at 12:00PM EDT. Responses should be emailed to the contracting officer at William.nalls@va.gov.
