Description
SOF HANGAR/AMU (MC-130J), CANNON AIR FORCE BASE, CURRY COUNTY, NEW MEXICO. This acquisition is an unrestricted Best Value Request for Proposal (RFP), open to both large and small business concerns. NAICS is 236220/SIC 1542, with a size standard of $33,500,000.00. The magnitude of construction is between $10,000,000.00 and $25,000,000.00. Bonding will be required for this acquisition. Offerors' attention is directed to Section 00100 in the Solicitation for information regarding the pre-proposal/site visit. Plans will be issued on or about June 6, 2011 with bids due on or about July 6, 2011. This solicitation will not be issued on paper. Construction Services to be performed under the firm fixed price contract will consist of the construction of a 2-Bay hangar for C-130 heavy maintenance, space for aircraft maintenance unit and associated access apron. The hangar will be for two C-130 aircraft, 51,537 SF (4787 SM) in size and constructed with a concrete foundation and floor slab. The hangar bay floor shall meet airfield paving requirements. The project includes an aircraft maintenance unit (AMU) of 15,200 SF (1,408 SM) that will consist of administrative areas, tool room, supply/bench stock area, storage, shop areas, emergency shower and eyewash stations, locker room with showers, break area, meeting area and all necessary utility infrastructure support. The project also includes an access apron, site lighting and all other necessary support. Force protection for the structures will include structural reinforcement of exterior walls and tempered glass windows. The project includes demolition of the existing concrete slabs, foundations and sidewalks within the building footprint as well as relocation or abandonment of the associated utilities. LEED silver certification will be required. This project will be advertised as an unrestricted Best Value RFP. Proposed procurement will result in a firm fixed price contract.
