Description
Construction Project No. 656-10-177, entitled Expand Pharmacy B-5 at the VA Medical Center, St. Cloud, Minnesota. This solicitation is issued as an IFB ( Invitation for Bid) construction project, which is 100% SET ASIDE FOR SERVICE DISABLED VETERAN OWNED SMALL BUSINESS firms. All bidders must be registered on www.ccr.gov, www.vetbiz.gov and https://orca.bpn.gov by the bid due date. The NAICS code is 236220. Contractor shall furnish all labor, materials, tools and equipment required to renovate and Expand Pharmacy in B-5. Work includes adding approximately 2,500 sq ft of new building addition, including a new vault. Work shall be phased, since the pharmacy and vault shall be in operation during construction. Work includes replacement of HVAC systems serving the current Pharmacy department and expanded to serve the additional new building space. Work includes reconfigured Mechanical and Electrical systems to serve all renovated and expanded space. Work includes the reconfiguration of some existing space within Building 5 Pharmacy to coordinate with the function and building addition. Work shall encompass increased Pharmacy efficiencies for processing orders. Work shall be phased to keep the Pharmacy department fully operational service the public during construction, following VA Handbook 0730/2(Security and Law Enforcement). Work is to be completed in accordance with the contract drawings and specifications. Liquidated damages do apply to this project and are $1,208 per day after the contract completion date. Potential offerors to note the OSHA training requirements as listed in the General Requirements section. Work cannot commence until the VA has received proof of required OSHA training. Any amendments issued to this solicitation will ONLY be available on www.fbo.gov. Bidders are advised that they are responsible for obtaining all amendments. NO HARD COPY DOCUMENTS WILL BE AVAILABLE. All project information will be available free of charge on www.fbo.gov. No bidders mailing lists are maintained by the Contracting Officer. The interested parties list is available on www.fbo.gov. The estimated dollar value for this procurement is between $2.0 Mil to $5.0 Million. NO TELEPHONE QUESTIONS WILL BE ACCEPTED. All questions or inquiries must be submitted via email to wendy.hoeschen@va.gov. The solicitation will be issued on or around 5/10/11. A pre-bid meeting is scheduled for 5/17/11 at 1:00 p.m. CST in the Auditorium; attendance is not mandatory but is strongly encouraged. A public bid opening will be held on 6/10/11 at 2PM CST when bids are due. Electronic or faxed bids will NOT be accepted. This project requires bidders to secure bonding. Award is subject to the availability of funds.
