- Description
- Develop enhancements to WWETAC prototype webcrawler and search engine for wildland threats in the news. Enhancements will include geotagging locations mentioned in news articles and displaying on map using open source components. Application will combine custom code and openly available utilities developed by Google, Yahoo, and others into a single applicaiton. Tools will be added to allow users to search the database for articles of interest for forest insects, forest diseases, and related political and Forest Service news. Authority cited: National Agricultural Research, Extension, and Teaching Act of 1977, Sec. 1472 (7 U.S.C. 3318)(c)(e).
