- PRE-SOLICITATION NOTICE for The Project includes renovations of the Outpatient Clinic within Building No. 1 of the Oscar G. Johnson VA Medical Center in Iron Mountain Michigan. Work includes renovation of approximately 7,700 square feet of the existing Outpatient Clinic space and former Emergency Department Space, and finish upgrades within the remaining +/- 7,000 square feet of the Outpatient Clinic. Work within the renovated work zones will consist of the demolition of existing and installation of new stud and drywall wall partitions and appurtenances; demolition of existing and installation of new electrical and communication lines; demolition of existing and installation of new HVAC ductwork and hydronic piping; demolition of existing and installation of new security equipment; and demolition of existing and installation of new fire suppression lines and appurtenances. Finish work within the other portions of the Outpatient Clinic will include vinyl wallpaper removal, patching, painting, and flooring removal and replacement. Also includes within the proposed project is renovations to the patient waiting areas. Work within this area will consist of new wall coverings, window replacement, carpet repair and replacement, tile replacement and casework additions. The proposed project schedule will be dependent upon completion of the Emergency Department Relocation Project. All work is to be completed within 570 days after the issuance of the notice to proceed. This construction project is set-aside for Veteran-Owned Small Business (VOSBs). All prospective contractors must be registered on the VetBiz website, www.vetbiz.gov, to be considered for award. The solicitation, specifications and drawings will be posted on Fedbizops. There will be pre-construction conference held for this project and all prospective bidders are encouraged to attend. Details of the pre-construction conference will be included in the solicitation packages. The solicitation will be issued on/about May 03, 2011 with the bid opening on/about June 06, 2011. The bidder is responsible to monitor and download any amendments from Fedbizops which may be issued to this solicitation. In accordance with Public Law 109-461, the Veterans Benefits, Healthcare and Information Technology Act of 2006. Pursuant to 38 USC 8127(d), competition is restricted to SDVOSB construction firms. The project magnitude range is between $1,000,000 - $2,000,000. The North American Industry Classification Code (NAICS) for this procurement is 236220; size standard $33.5 Million applies. In accordance with FAR 52.204-7, Required Central Contractor Registration and in accordance with FAR 2.101, VAAR 802.101, VetBiz Registration, prospective firms must be registered in Central Contractor Registration (CCR) and in the VetBiz databases prior to award.
