Description
The Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) intends to award a sole source purchase order to Germann Instruments Inc. for an Auto-Shrink and a Dynamic Resonance Frequency Tester. Germann Instruments Inc. is the only known manufacturer for these items. The manufacturer part number for the Auto-Shrink is AS-1100M. This instrument must be acquired with a bench, digital gauge, reference bar, 50 corrugated plastic tubes and 100 matching plugs, 5 support racks for tubes, complete accessories and manual. The manufacturer part number for the Dynamic Resonance Frequency Tester is DK-5000. This Tester must conform to ASTM C215-02. It must be purchased with the complete Laptop and data acquisition card, accelerometer and cable, impactor, test bench software and manual. The proposed action is for services which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. All responsible sources may submit a response identifying their interest and capability to respond to this requirement. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. This is a Simplified Acquisition and the total estimated value is not to exceed $12,600; the anticipated award date is late April, 2011.
