- Description
- The Bureau of Engraving and Printing (BEP) located in Washington DC manufactures US currency notes. There are two BEP manufacturing facilities - one in Washington DC referred to as the Eastern Currency Facility (ECF) and another in Fort Worth Texas referred to as Western Currency Facility (WCF). This is for the Fiscal Year (FY) 2012 subscription. Currently the Bureau of Engraving and Printing has a requirement for "CAS Team License and CAS Annual Support". This software package is to be procured from INFOR (formerly SSA Global Technologies). The BEP anticipates a FAR part 12 acquisition with a fixed priced type contract awarded to INFOR. CAS software was installed at the BEP in the early 1980s. The CAS software includes the following: Bill of materials, accounts payable, purchasing, cost control, order entry, inventory control, master production scheduling, material requirements planning, hop floor control, general ledger, fixed assets, and CAS Data. The current requirement shall be for 24/7 access via internet, phone or other means. The access shall include: INFOR's global helpline question and answer database, INFOR's incident tracking database, and qualified personnel for advice on the software. In order to maintain continuity of operations at the BEP, the BEP will need to contract with INFOR under a sole source basis. The CAS software suite is proprietary software to INFOR Global Solutions.
