- The NASA Langley Research Center (LaRC) in Hampton, Virginia is solicitinginformation on potential sources for on-site logistics services at NASA LaRC. Thisadvance notice is published to provide information about services that are required andto gather information on potential sources that will enable NASA LaRC to determine themost appropriate type of competition. Currently, logistics services are included in theNASA LaRC contract NAS1-02081 entitled the Consolidated Logistics, Administrative, andScientific Information Contract (CLASIC), which was awarded in February 2002 as theresult of an 8(a) competition.This contract is available on the NASA Freedom ofInformation (FOIA) Website. To accommodate LaRCs mission and vision for the future, andto provide another prime contracting opportunity, the logistics services portion of theCLASIC contract will be removed from the CLASIC contract and will be procured under aseparate contract vehicle. The following is a summary of the required logisticsservices.The contractor shall provide comprehensive logistics services covering all aspects ofgeneral transportation and delivery services, mail operation, personnel relocationservices, furniture delivery services, vehicle maintenance and control, materialsmanagement and warehouse operations, stores and tool crib support, property disposal,shipping, receiving, and equipment management.NASA LaRC anticipates that the servicesrequired under this contract shall be provided on-site at NASA Langley Research Center;however, occasionally, off-site temporary services are required. Warehousing facilitiestotaling 93,000 square feet are provided on-site to support materials management,equipment management, warehouse operations, and property disposal. Requested Information: No solicitation currently exists; therefore, do not request a copyof the solicitation package. If a solicitation is released it will be synopsized andposted accordingly. Interested parties are requested to submit a capabilities statementdetailing the ability to meet the requirements listed above. Clearly specify in theresponse the status of your firm as a small business, small business with 8(a) certifiedstatus, small business HUBZone or any other small business category. Capabilitystatements should be limited to 15 pages and please include any potentialteaming/subcontracting partners if foreseen to meet the Governments needs listed above;current or previously awarded contracts for similar type work and whether it was for aGovernment entity (e.g. City, State, Federal), the type of contract, (Fixed Price, CostReimbursement) and any types of incentives, (Award Fee, Incentive Fee, Award Term) toinclude non-monetary performance incentives. Also, please include your DUNS Number andCCR Number if applicable. This request for information is for market research andplanning purposes only and is not to be construed as a commitment by the Government.Respondents will not be notified of any results of information collected. The informationprovided will assist the Government in its assessment of the current market and futureacquisition planning strategy.As stipulated in FAR 15.201(e), responses to this noticeare not considered offers and cannot be accepted by the Government to form a bindingcontract.
