- PLEASE RETURN BY 4/26/2011 The U.S. Department of Agriculture/Plant Protection & Quarantine/Emerald Ash Borer Project ( USDA//PPQ/EAB) office in Brighton, MI is in need of a 4,000 square foot storage space for their emerald ash borer methods and development work. The space is needed to accommodate both work and storage needs. EAB personnel will need this space to have a large bay door into at least 1,500 square feet of warehouse space for their trailers, man lift, iron horse and other equipment. They also need some of the space (1,500 square feet) to be finished and under tighter environmental control than the warehouse space for the EAB adult emergence barrels and ash plants. The rest of the space is flexible. Items to be stored: project materials and equipment (including experimental traps and barrels, field cages, chainsaws, tools, a band saw, a man lift, two trailers, a log arch, a log splitter and an iron horse) a workshop for construction needed for research projects and for chainsaw maintenance, barrel racks for EAB experiments, a space for a small number (40-50) of live evergreen ash plants in pots to feed adult EAB The space is needed by May 1, 2011 The USDA/PPQ/EAB would like to enter into a 1 year lease agreement. The property should be located in Brighton MI, where the main lab is located. Interested sources are encouraged to complete and return Attachment 1 to the contracting office. Small Business concerns are encouraged to participate. This is not a request for competitive proposals, but instead a market research method to determine interested sources. A determination by the Government not to compete this requirement based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. No requests for capability briefings will be honored as a result of this notice. Interested sources who submit data are responsible for appropriately marking information if it is proprietary in nature. Please provide Tax I.D. Number, Duns Number, and point of contact information. The Government will not award a contract based on the information received, nor reimburse participants for information or samples they provide.
