- Description
- The United States Coast Guard Surface Forces Logistics Center intends to issue a Commercial Request for Quotation (RFQ) for the dockside repairs to USCGC STATEN ISLAND (WPB-1345). The Coast Guard intends to conduct this procurement in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 12, Acquisition of Commercial Items and FAR Subpart 13.5, Test Program for Certain Commercial Items. In accordance with FAR 52.232-18, the contract will be subject to the availability of appropriated funds. This procurement will be a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business set aside. All responsible SDVOSB concerns may submit an offer, which shall be considered by the U.S. Coast Guard. The small business size standard for NAICS 336611 is less than 1,000 employees. The solicitation will be issued electronically on the Federal Business Opportunities (FedBizOpps) web page at http://www.fbo.gov on or about April 18, 2011 with quotes due on or about May 9, 2011. This commercial item requirement is set-aside for Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned small business concerns and will be evaluated where as Past Performance is more important than Price. The USCGC STATEN ISLAND's homeport is Fort Macon, NC. The place of performance will be at the cutter's homeport, located at 2301 E. Fort Macon Road, Fort Macon, NC 28512. The Period of performance is thirty-two (32) calendar days from on or about 16 August 2011 thru 16 September 2011. The contractor shall provide all labor, material and equipment necessary for dockside repairs to the USCGC STATEN ISLAND (WPB-1345). The scope of work is for the overhauling, renewing and repairing of various items aboard the USCGC STATEN ISLAND (WPB-1345). This work will include, but is not limited to: Tanks (MP Fuel Service), Clean and Inspect Tanks (MP Fuel Stowage and Overflow), Clean and Inspect Tanks (Dirty Oil and Waste), Clean and Inspect Tanks (Potable Water), Clean and Inspect MDE Exhaust System, Inspect Single Point Davit (Appleton SEB), Level 2 Inspect and Repair Oil Content Meter, Calibrate Sewage Vacuum Collection Tanks, Clean and Inspect Provide Temporary Services Canopy Mounts, AMIO, Fabricate and Install Flying Bridge Console Aluminum Plating Renewal Floating Deck System 1 Step Renewal Sound Locker Insulation Renewal Renew False Blkhead in the EM Shop A/C Salt Water Piping Renewal ET Craw Space Inspection and Re-Wiring Circuit Breakers (60 Hz), Inspect and Test All welding and brazing shall be accomplished by trained welders, who have been certified by the applicable regulatory code performance qualification procedures. All reference documents are available for viewing at 300 East Main Street, Suite 600, Norfolk, VA 23510-9102. Drawings are now available on CD-ROM. The CD-ROM is available free of charge to contractors upon request not later than four (4) days from the solicitation issuance. The CD-ROM(s) contain WINDOWS compliant raster/vector formats (e.g.*.DWF, etc).
