- The United States Special Operations Command (USSOCOM), Technology Applications Contracting Office (TAKO) has a requirement to procure an Oehler System 86 Bullet Counter system in support of the Hostile Fire Indicating System (HFIS) for the 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment (SOAR(A)). The System 86 shall include one (1) system 86 controller with equipment, seventeen (17) 8236W acoustic target microphone, RG-58 - various lengths, and gun position instrumentation. USSOCOM intends to issue a Firm Fixed Price purchase order to Oehler Research, Inc, a small business operating in Austin, TX. Shipments will be FOB Origin to Ft. Eustis, VA. The Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under authority FAR.6.302-1 (Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements). The Government does not possess and cannot furnish the technical data required to develop engineering descriptions, technical data packages, or specifications necessary to permit full and open competition. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals; however, all responsible sources may submit a proposal which shall be considered. The North American Industrial Classification Code is 334513.
