- The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has a requirement for the evaluation/teardown, repair/upgrade or overhaul/upgrade and test of Government-owned items applicable to the following four (4) Radio Control Equipment Units: National Stock Number (NSN) Part Number (P/N) 5998-01-398-5373 20041490-001 5998-01-398-537520041490-002 5998-01-423-345820041490-003 5998-01-478-648120041490-005 General Dynamics, C4 Systems, Incorporated is the proprietary and only authorized source of repair/overhaul for the RCE Radio Equipment. The FAA contemplates awarding a Firm Fixed Price (FFP) Requirements contract with one base and four one-year option periods to fulfill this requirement. The FAA intends to solicit and negotiate only with General Dynamics, C4 Systems, Inc., in accordance with AMS Policy 3.2.2.4. The determination to solicitation and negotiate with only one firm is necessitated and supported by the fact that General Dynamics, C4 Systems, Inc. owns the proprietary data rights associated with the equipment to be repaired under the contemplated contract. The design and proprietary data rights exclusively available to General Dynamics, C4 Systems, Inc. include all manufacturing specification data required for the repair of the RCE Radio equipment. This announcement is for information purposes only, not a request for proposals.
