- The Kennedy Center is both a performance venue and a free public memorial building that is open 365 days/year from 10:00am until 12:00am. Situated on a 17 acre site including roadways and parking areas, the building is approximately 1.5 million square feet with 9 theaters/performance spaces and other support areas including retail, restaurant, and special event rooms. The purpose of this effort is to procure a Security Guard Services contractor, responsible for the protection of life and property, maintaining order, deterring criminal activity, controlling access, providing emergency medical technician (EMTB) services, providing emergency dispatching and alarm monitoring services, and operating electronic and hydraulic vehicle barriers. Contracted security service personnel, in coordination with the Kennedy Center's Office of Security, are the primary point of contact for patrons, visitors, and staff for security and medical emergency-related matters. The contract award will be a labor hour contract, for a period of performance of one-year base period with four one-year option periods. Based on the current contract requirements, we estimate over 100,000 hours in support of a 7 day/week, 24 hour/day primary operation as well as temporary additional services for special events. The successful offeror will provide managerial, supervisory, and direct labor personnel (Special Police Officers licensed by the District of Columbia Security Officers Management Branch; Emergency Medical Technicians licensed by the District of Columbia Health Emergency Preparedness and Response Administration ) to accomplish all work required by the contract. This project is unrestricted and the North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code is 561612. Offers shall be submitted to the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, Contracting Office, 2700 F Street NW, Washington, DC 20566-0001; for express mail service (i.e., UPS, FedEx, etc.) use the same address. Offerors MUST be registered in the Contractor's Central Registration (CCR) in order to participate in this procurement. The website for CCR is http://www.ccr.gov. The entire solicitation will be available on or before April 22, 2011. The estimated due date for proposals is May 20, 2011. Services are expected to commence on October 1, 2011.
