- . The government is developing a requirement for contract MRI Technologists on a non-personal services basis at the Role 3 hospital in Kandahar, Afghanistan and at a clinic located at Camp Leatherneck in the Helmand Province, Afghanistan. Anticipated start of services is Fall 2011 for an initial twelve-month period. The services will be needed at anytime throughout the day, seven days/week. The volume of studies is unknown at this time; the MRI manufacturer/model has not yet been identified. Ordering physicians will be located on-site. Studies will be provided for interpretation via PACS to the National Intrepid Center of Excellence (NICoE), Bethesda, MD. Acceptable candidates will be US citizens who have experience performing T1 and T2 weighted images, plus susceptibility weighted images sensitive to very small hemorrhages and diffusion tensor imaging sensitive to axonal injury. Interested vendors are invited to submit a brief capability statement, along with questions pertinent to the staffing of this requirement, to the contracting officer listed herein NLT COB 20 April 2010 using the title, MRI Tech Afghanistan RFI.
