Description
MATERIAL; KNIT, T-SHIRT Sources Sought: The U.S. Army Natick Soldier RDEC has a need to identify commercially available T-shirt material for potential use as a replacement for the material currently used for the issue physical fitness uniform T-shirt. The material will be evaluated for use in a potential future user evaluation.*** NO SOLICITATION CURRENTLY EXISTS.*** It is preferred that the material be 100% produced in the U.S of 100% U.S. made fibers, but the Government is not mandating the type of fibers. The only absolute requirements are: the material shall meet or exceed the current requirements of the existing T-shirt material. The weight of the material shall be 5.5 to 6.0 oz/sq. yard. The properties we are looking for are: moisture management, quick drying, low pill, reduction/prevention of odor, durability in laundering, and comfort on the skin. These properties shall last for a minimum of 50 launderings. Color shall be heather gray. Companies interested in having their material evaluated for possible future use must submit 12 complete T-shirts(for testing purposes) in size Medium, with the "Army" logos transfer applied, along with an information paper (specification sheet) describing the material, to include such things as material name, place of manufacture, location of source of fibers, blend of fibers, pricing information, any in-house testing data that is available and any other information that the company feels appropriate. The samples and information paper must be submitted no later than 11 July 2011 to Ms. Beverly Kimball, US Army Research Development & Engineering Command, Natick Soldier RDEC, ATTN: AMSRD-RDNS-WPW-C, Room D-226, Kansas Street, Natick, MA 01760-5019.
