Description
81mm HF-1 Shell Bodies Market Survey The U. S. Army Contracting Command Picatinny, Picatinny Arsenal, N.J.07806-5000 is conducting a Sources Sought/Market Survey for potential sources to manufacture 81mm HF-1 Shell Bodies, Part Number: 12630554. Respondents must demonstrate that they have the capability to manufacture high fragmentation steel shell bodies for mortar ammunition which requires special tooling and production equipment, including mechanical and hydraulic presses for forging and forming, heat treating equipment, and finishing lathes. The 81mm HF-1 Shell Bodies are a one piece tear drop shaped body made of HF-1 steel. The shell body is approximately 10.25 inches long and has a diameter of approximately 3.17 inches. Interested companies who feel they have the necessary capabilities should respond by providing the following information in the timeframe established below: 1) Description of Facilities, Personnel, Manufacturing Capabilities and how they directly relate to the 81mm HF-1 Shell Bodies; 2) Estimated minimum and maximum monthly production capacities, and the minimum procurement quantity required for production; and 3) Respondents shall state if they are currently manufacturing this item or have made this item or similar items in the past. Additionally, interested companies should address if manufacturing resources are shared with other item/production lines and identify the approximate amount shared. A Technical Data Package is not available for this announcement; however, one will be made available should a formal Request for Proposal (RFP) be released at a later date. This market survey is being released for planning purposes only. It does NOT constitute a Request for Proposal and is NOT to be construed as a commitment by the Government. The Government does NOT intend to award a contract on the basis of this Market Survey or otherwise pay respondents for information submitted. All information received will be kept as proprietary and not released to anyone outside the Government. The contractor shall provide all information requested in this notification within 15 days of this publication by electronic mail at no cost to the US Government. The requested information can be sent to Michael Samra, Contract Specialist, ACC-PICA-CA, Bldg. 9, Picatinny Arsenal, NJ 07806-5000, michael.samra@us.army.mil. If a formal solicitation is generated at a later date, a pre-solicitation notice will be published. No award will be made as a result of this market survey. Please submit your responses no later than 25 April 2011.
