- The proposed contract action is for an acquisition for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302-1. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit quotes. A determination by the Government not to compete with this proposed contract based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. The DLA Distribution, New Cumberland, PA has a requirement for the Drive Controller for the Automated Storage Retrieval System (ASRS) that controls the unmanned forklift. The item includes these components: 2 each transducers (P/N 0280611-001), 1 each drive (P/N 0700105), 2 each encoders (P/N 0700106), 2 each transmission system IR data (0279559-001), 1 RF dual Gateway modem (P/N 0402431-001), 1 adapter RF modem (P/N 0285146-001), 2 photo cell receivers (0284960-001), and 2 photo eye emitters (P/N 0284474-001). Dematic Corp. (formally HK Systems) has been identified as the only manufacturer that can satisfy the requirement for the drive controller for the ASRS. All responsible sources may respond by submitting qualifications/capabilities of their company to provide the drive controller for the ASRS within seven (7) days notice to Catherine Doyne, Contract Specialist, DLA Distribution, J7-AB, J Avenue, Building 404, New Cumberland, PA 17070-5000, phone: 717-770-7390, fax: 717-770-7591 or email: Catherine.doyne@dla.mil for consideration by the agency. If no affirmative responses are received within seven (7) days of this notice to determine whether a qualified source is more advantageous to the Government, an order will be negotiated and awarded to Dematic Corporation.
