- Summary of Work 1. Demolition of existing fencing on the Intake Canal Headworks to allow placement of an overlay slab. Total lineal feet of fence to be demolished is approximately 350 feet. 2. Placement of a 4-inch overlay slab on the Intake Canal Headworks walkway deck. The overlay slab will be 8 feet and 9 inches in width by approximately 85 feet in length. Placement of 6 ft. wide by 3 ft high concrete steps on West end and ramp on east end. 3. Installation of new 6-foot chain link fencing, stairway, handrail, and transition slab at the Intake Canal Headworks. Total lineal feet of fencing including fence gates is approximately 340 feet. 4. Removal and replacement of fractured concrete on one of the pier noses at the Mill Creek Division Works, design improvement of the anchor attachments for all three pier noses, and replace two angles (6 inch x 6 inch x 2 ft long) with two (6 inch x 6 inch x 4 ft long) angles at the north and south end wall sections of the Mill Creek channel. 5. Upgrade of motor and controls of the four radial arm gates at the Division Works structure to variable frequency drives (VFD). Test each wier gate (four gates) through two operational cycles (1 cycle: at fully closed, to fully open to fully close). 6. Removal, sandblasting, painting and reinstalling the radial Gate that regulates the flow of water to Yellowhawk & Garrison creeks from Mill Creek. Replace two gate bushings, gate seals (two sides and one bottom) and two wire ropes. Test the Radial Gate through two operational cycles (1 cycle" at fully closed, to fully open to fully close). Contractor is required to follow the procedures in the Army Corps of Engineers Safety Manual, which can be found online at http://www.usace.army.mil/CESO/Pages/EM385-1-1,2008NEW!.aspx located at US Army Corps of Engineers homepage. Solicitation No. W912EF-11-B-0005 will be posted to the FBO website on or about April 21, 2011. Proposals will be opened no sooner than 30 calendar days after actual solicitation issuance date. The proposal due date will be contained in the solicitation and any solicitation amendments that may be issued. A site visit will be offered approximately two weeks after the solicitation is made available to offerors. See solicitation for details about the site visit. Solicitation is set-aside for small business concerns. NAICS code for this project is 237990, and the small business size standard is $33,500,000 average annual receipts.
