- This is a Sources Sought Synopsis announcement and market survey for information only, to be used for preliminary planning purposes. This market survey is being conducted to identify potential sources that possess the technical capability and qualifications to meet the Government's requirements for the MK710 Torpedo System Test Set (TSTS). The TSTS project will provide a new MK48 torpedo system-level test set. It is anticipated that the Government will require two (2) developmental test sets, with production options for approximately fifteen (15) additional test sets. These systems will be installed at four Intermediate Maintenance Activities (IMA) servicing MK48 torpedoes for the United Stated Navy and Royal Australian Navy. Also, this announcement requests industry comments on how the Government can satisfy its needs, alternative approaches, technology availability and risk, the identification of cost drivers, and suggestions on ways to enhance and sustain competition. This synopsis shall not be construed as an invitation for bid, request for quotation, request for proposal, or as an obligation on the part of the Government to acquire any products or services.
