- Description
- The Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) intends to award a sole source purchase order to the Catholic University of America for conference meeting space, audio-visual equipment, videographer, and IT support for the United States Department of Transportation (USDOT) National Engineers Program scheduled for April 6, 2011. The USDOT National Engineering Program is to provide high school students who excel in the Science Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) school programs with an understanding of the US transportation system and the engineering discipline. Representatives from the USDOT Operating Administrations, National professional engineering organizations, and Washington metropolitan area university schools of engineering will participate. FHWA reviewed the qualifications of major Washington metropolitan area universities and found that only the Catholic University of America met all of FHWA's criteria for location, accessibility, seating capacity, dates available and supports a major engineering program as part of its curriculum. All responsible sources may submit a response identifying their interest and capability to respond to the requirement. The proposed contract action is for services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under authority FAR 6.302. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. This is a Simplified Acquisition and the anticipated award date is April 6, 2011.
