Description
The Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source, Herman Miller/ID&A, Inc., 855 E. Main Ave, Zeeland, MI 49464-1372. This procurement is for the removal, set-up, and storage, of existing furniture that is currently under warranty. The furniture will be moved to temporary training facilities while the permanent training facilities are being repaired; once the permanent locations are repaired, the warranted furniture is to be moved back to its original (permanent locations) and set up with additional modular furniture. Additional modular furniture is being procured from the aforementioned vendor and will be installed at the same time as the warranted furniture because add-on furniture has to be installed by the manufacturer, Herman Miller, or dealer in order for the warranty to remain effective. As such, this requirement will be conducted on a sole source basis in accordance with the statutory authority of 10 U.S.C. 2304 (1) and FAR 13.5. This Agency intends to enter into a firm-fixed-price contract with Herman Miller/ID&A, Inc., for removal, storage, and reinstallation of existing furniture located at Desroches Military Training Facility (MTF) at Fort Campbell, Kentucky. First, the vendor will uninstall existing furniture from Desroches MTF, reinstall furniture that is needed at the temporary training facility and place the excess furniture into storage temporarily until the permanent training facility is repaired; secondly, vendor will install existing furniture from storage and newly procured furniture at Desroches (Training Facility); Thirdly, vendor will relocate and place into storage furniture from Hunter Hall (with no installation); Lastly, vendor will relocate and install Hunter Hall furniture back to Hunter Hall; other services include technical design, specification services, and electrician. The NAICS code for this procurement is 337214 and the small business size standard is 500 employees. This sole source requirement will be procured under Other Than Full and Open Competition procedures and awarded on an unrestricted basis. THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE OFFERS and a solicitation will not be issued; however, any firm that believes it can meet the requirement may give written notification to the Contracting Officer No Later Than 7 April 2011, 1500 hours CST. Supporting evidence must be furnished in sufficient detail to demonstrate the ability to comply with the requirement listed. Responses received will be evaluated; however, a determination by the Government not to compete the proposed procurement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. If no responses are received, the government will proceed with the sole source negotiation with Herman Miller/ID& A, Inc.
