Description
The Department of Veterans Affairs is looking for firms that are classified under one or more of the following socio-economic programs: Certified SDVOSB, Certified VOSB, HUBZone, 8(a), SDB, and/or WOSB. Firms must be a Contractor registered in CCR as a small business under the applicable NAICS AND if a Veteran firm it shall be listed as a CVE in VETBIZ. Interested parties should contact the Contracting Officer by e-mail (Frances.Leip@va.gov) or fax (315-425-4843) to assist in determining the type of procurement set-aside, if any, for the resulting solicitation. It is anticipated the resulting solicitation will be issued before the middle of April with RFP due in May 2011. The construction range is estimated to be between $250,000 and $500,000 and will require bonding capacity in that range.The NAICS code is 238210 with a size standard of 14.0 Mil. Please Respond by April 14, 2011. Project Title: Replace Garage and Exterior Lights with LED Lighting. Project Number: 528A7-11-726 Scope of work The Syracuse VA Medical Center will be contracting the supply and installation of LED parking lot fixtures to replace the existing high pressure sodium and metal halide fixtures in the parking structure. The existing parking structure is 7 levels and consist of roughly 50 fixtures per level. The fixtures are being replaced to maximize energy savings and to capitalize on existing power company rebates. In this contract, the contractor will be eligible to apply for any and all rebates. The contract is expected to be awarded in the Spring of 2011 with installation through the Fall of 2011. This project specifies the furnishing, installation and connection of the parking garage lighting systems. The general intent is to replace the listed existing garage fixtures, with a new LED low wattage fixture on each of the parking levels, to replace the existing T12 stairwell fixtures with new high efficiency vaportight fixtures with T-8 lamps to match the quantities listed, and to retrofit the various mechanical and electrical room fixtures with new ballasts and T8 lamps. Work is to include disconnecting, removing and the proper disposing of the existing fixtures, and the installation of new lamps, ballasts and fixtures as specified on the drawings and the specifications. Type of Work required is Electrical Duration of project: (Due to leadtime of product specified) 180 day contract The firms must also demonstrate their capability of performing at least 25% of the total work with their own forces. Firms having the skills, qualifications and capabilities to perform this work are invited to provide information to contribute to this market survey effort to assist in planning for the method of procurement. Construction Experience as a Prime Contractor for Similar Size Projects and Complexity, 8. Demonstration of Capability of Performing the required 25% of the Work with their own forces. This is NOT a Request for Proposals and the Government is seeking information for market research purposes only. Firms failing to respond to this Request for Information will not be precluded from responding to the solicitation when issued. Firms responding to this Sources Sought will need to respond again to a future separate FBO announcement of the anticipated procurement action in order to receive the solicitation documents.
