- DESCRIPTION: The Veterans Administration (VA) Nebraska Western Iowa Health Care System intends to issue a solicitation for several BOA type contracts with about eleven universities specifically named in a grant funded by VACO on June 3, 2009. The purpose of the grant is to facilitate innovative solutions to health care delivery challenges identified by national, network, and VA facility leadership as well as to propose important opportunities for change and improvement. The MWM VERC will integrate the principal of system engineering into the fabric of healthcare delivery, and will collaborate between VA professionals and one or more schools of engineering, named in the grant. Recent authorization from VACO has been granted to add a few specific schools and to extend the project to cover additional projects. Based on evaluation of the proposals, each university will be identified as to which tasks they have personnel with sufficient qualifications to compete on which tasks. The tasks under the BOA contracts will be competed. The solicitation will be emailed on or about April 14, 2011.
