- DESCRIPTION: The VA MidSouth Health System, VISN 9 intends to negotiate a sole source interim contract with the following companies Medical Comfort; ED Medical; B & B Medical Services and Greene Medical to continue providing for the home delivery of oxygen to authorized VA patients for the VISN 9 Medical Centers until a long term contract is finalized. Currently the solicitation is under protest and a final decision must be reached before continuing with a new solicitation. It is anticipated that a new long term contract using FAR competitive procedures to establish a Firm Fixed Price contract will commence at the end of this interim contracting action. This procurement will be accomplished using commercial item procedures in accordance with FAR Part 12, 13 and 6.302-2, Unusual and Compelling Urgency. The NAICS code is 532291 and the Size Standard is 7.0 Million. This NOTICE IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE PROPOSALS; it is not a solicitation or a request for offers. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed procurement based on any responses received to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Interested parties may identify their interest. TELEPHONE INQUIRIES AND REQUESTS WILL NOT BE HONORED. The Government shall consider all information received by 4:00 PM (Central Time) on April 8, 2011. Information received shall be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether it is a viable option to conduct a competitive procurement for this six (6) month time period and the additional six (6) month extension. Supporting evidence and documentation must be furnished in sufficient detail to demonstrate the ability to comply with the procurement requirements.
