- Description
- The Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Wilkes-Barre, PA requires correction to the following life safety deficiencies: the labeling of doors, frames and door/frame combination; the repair of smoke and fire penetrations and incomplete barriers; the installation and replacement of smoke and fire doors and respective door frames including the preparation of a door schedule indicating location, door size, ratings, hardware, vision panels, and plans for any architectural work needed for a complete installation; the installation, replacement, repair, testing and certification of fire and smoke dampers including the preparation of a damper schedule indicating location, damper size, type and architectural work for damper access. Project Number 693-11-127. The contractor shall provide all necessary labor, material, tools, supervision, equipment, permits, testing and reports in accordance with all federal, state and local codes and regulations. The magnitude of this VA construction project is estimated to be between $500,000 and $1,000,000. Period of Performance will be approximately 180 calendar days after issuance of Notice to Proceed, but must be completed by Dec 31, 2011. All work on this project must be accomplished between 7 AM and 5 PM Monday through Friday. Set-Aside Information: This solicitation is to be issued as a 100% service-disabled veteran small business set aside (SDVOSB). The firm must be small under relevant North American Industrial Classification Standard (NAICS) code and the must be registered and current in the following websites: www.ccr.gov and www.vetbiz.gov. Offerors must ensure registrations in these websites are not expired and are correct, current and valid. The NAICS code for this project is 236220 - Addition, Alteration and Renovation General Contractors, and the small business size standard is $33.5 Million. A pre-proposal conference and site visit will be held approximately two weeks after issuance of the solicitation. The exact date/time/location of the conference will be specified in the solicitation. The solicitation documents will be posted at the Federal Business Opportunities website (http://www.fbo.gov) on or about April 13, 2011.
