- The Social Security Administration (SSA) intends to negotiate a sole-source acquisition with Herman Miller, Inc., 855 E. Main Ave., Zeeland, MI, 49464, for the purpose of providing services needed to maintain previously installed HMI Systems Furniture. These services include design, installation and provision of new product for relocations, reconfigurations and adding additional workstations to an existing office, and providing warranty services on existing and new furniture. We have outlined the Service and Product requirements in the attached draft Statement of Work (SOW) and Attachments. The proposed contract action will be made under the authority of FAR 6.302-1 (10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1)) ?Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements.? The sole source is based on the source?s unique ability to maintain the existing Herman Miller furniture product in nationwide SSA offices. Herman Miller is uniquely qualified to relocate, reconfigure, and add-on product, to existing customized Herman Miller product while maintaining the existing furniture product warranty. This is not a formal solicitation. No solicitation document is available and telephone requests will not be honored. No contract will be awarded on the basis of offers received in response to this notice. Any response to this notice must show clear and convincing evidence that the required capability is available from other sources and competition would be advantageous to the Government. Specifically, potential sources must submit a capabilities statement and respond to the attached questions that affirmatively demonstrate that the potential source is capable of performing all requirements as outlined in the draft Statement of Work and Attachments. If the Government does not receive an affirmative written response, the Government will award the procurement without further notice. A determination by the Government not to compete the proposed action based up on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for determining whether to conduct a competitive acquisition. In the subject line of all correspondence, please indicate the following along with your company name: Sources Sought ? Systems Furniture ? (company name). Due to the high risk of virus infection of many types of files, SSA has a security policy in place to block the transmission of certain file types via E-mail. This means that any message attachments with the listed filename extensions will be stripped from all E-mail messages automatically (whether or not the files are infected with a virus). The current list of blocked filename extensions is attached. The file size limit on messages being sent and received is 5 megabytes.
