Description
The purpose of this Request for Information (RFI) is to conduct Market Research to install the Air Force Tactical Receiver System-Ruggedized (AFTRS-R) on the EC-130J aircraft. The AFTRS-R is capable of receiving and decrypting tactical data from the Integrated Broadcast Service - Simplex (IBS-S) and Integrated Broadcast Service - Interactive (IBS-I). The IBS-S and IBS-I broadcast networks provide national and tactical intelligence in Near Real-Time (NRT) for threat warning, force protection, enhanced situational awareness, and target acquisition at various locations. The AFTRS-R is the replacement for the Commanders Tactical Terminal/ Hybrid Receiver (CTT/HR) currently used on the EC-130J Commando Solo. The AFTRS-R receiver will be provided as Government Furnished Equipment. We are doing market research for the services listed below. Services Needed: Manage the design and installation of the AFTRS-R on the EC-130J Commando Solo and Super J Aircraft utilizing and developing engineering drawings, manufacture, and install the AFTRS on the aircraft systems mentioned above. Please answer these relative to our requirement within on paragraphs per questions. 1. Amount of experience with C-130 aircraft modifications, design and installations? 2. Type of experience with technical order development? 3. Engineering Documentation i.e.: drawings, structural analysis test procedures etc? 4. Familiarity with MIL-HDBK 516 (Airworthiness Certification)? 5. Aircraft Modification Program Management Capability? Responses to this RFI are not considered offers and cannot be accepted by the Government to form a binding contract. Vendors are encouraged to ask the Government questions regarding this potential requirement. Please direct all questions regarding this RFI to Hank Howard via email at Hank.Howard@robins.af.mil. Request for information closing date is 31 Mar 2011.
