- In accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 5.201(b)(1)(ii), this is a notice of the West Palm Beach Veterans Affairs (VA) Medical Center's intent to exercise its option to extend the service on contract VA248-P-1376 for eyeglass dispensary services at the West Palm Beach VA Medical Center from April 1, 2011 through June 30, 2011. This contract is with Superior Optical, Inc. This action is authorized by contract clause FAR 52.217-8 Option to Extend Services to allow for sufficient time to undertake and complete a new procurement for these services which is currently underway. This action is necessary because of the lack of adequate transition time due to administrative delays and consideration of additional procurement costs. The anticipated release date for the solicitation for the services under the new procurement is April 22, 2011 and this solicitation will be posted through the FBO website. Responses are not being solicited to this notice.
