- SPECIAL NOTICE DARPA-SN-11-33, SWASH PROPOSERS' DAY CONFERENCE ANNOUNCEMENT DARPA will host a Proposers' Day Conference for the Shallow Water Agile Submarine Hunting (SWASH) program on April 7, 2011 from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM in Arlington, VA at the Capital Conference Center (703) 351-8200, located at: 3601 Wilson Blvd., 6th floor, in support of the Broad Agency Announcement (BAA) DARPA-BAA-11-41. The purpose of this conference is to provide information on the SWASH program; and to promote additional discussion on this topic; address questions from potential proposers; and provide a forum for exchanges with the government team as described in the BAA. PROGRAM OBJECTIVE AND DESCRIPTION: The SWASH program intends to develop ASW surveillance and cued search capability for shallow water littorals without the use of traditional acoustics or sonar. DARPA seeks the widest range of possible sensing solutions to achieve this goal. The best solutions will allow for operations useful across all phases of conflict. The expectation is that sensing solutions with low size, weight, power, and cost offer the greatest opportunity for flexible integration into unmanned airborne platforms. The BAA will solicit proposals for studies and technology assessments to understand the span of potential solutions. A subsequent BAA may follow to support discovery and development efforts. This proposers-day will allow industry to view a briefing on the concept and ask questions of the government team. REGISTRATION INFORMATION: All participants must pre-register for the conference no later than 12:00 PM EDT April 5, 2011. Please include the subject "SWASH Proposers' Day" in all submissions and correspondence. Details on the conference, including registration information and directions to the facility are available for download at the BAA information website http://www.solers.com/BAAinfo-reg/swash/. There is no registration fee for attendance. Participants who wish to attend must have at least an active DoD SECRET clearance and must have their Security Office submit a Visit Request no later than 12:00 PM EDT April 6, 2011. Attendance is not required to propose to the BAA for this program. Due to space limitations at the conference facility, attendance will be limited to the first 100 registrants, and no more than 2 representatives per organization (unless the registration does not fully fill the 100 seats in which case the 2 representatives per company restriction may be lifted). All attendees will be required to present government issued photo identification upon entry to the event.
