- This is a Market Survey to identify experienced manufacturers, integrators and/or suppliers of x-ray beamline components who may be interested in submitting proposals on such equipment in support of the National Synchrotron Light Source II (NSLS-II) project. Brookhaven Science Associates, LLC (BSA), under Contract DE-AC02-98CH10886 for the operation of Brookhaven National Laboratory (BNL) with the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) intends to issue several Requests for Proposal related to the National Synchrotron Light Source II (NSLS-II) X-ray Beamline Components Respondents should have experience in the design of custom equipment incorporating precision mechanisms (including flexures and piezo motor actuated devices with sub-micron position resolution), ultra high vacuum compatibility, x-ray optical substrates and integrated mirror benders, design of devices with extreme thermal and vibrational stability, and calculation of thermal performance of equipment exposed to wiggler and undulator radiation and cooled by water or liquid nitrogen. Respondents will be added to BSA's Source list for these upcoming procurements. This request for information does not constitute an invitation for bids, a request for proposal, a solicitation, a request for quote or an indication that BSA will contract for the items provided by submitter.
