Description
The Bureau of Reclamation has a requirement for the construction of the Horsethief Canyon Native Fish Facility, which is to be located approximately 1 mile southwest of Fruita, Colorado, in Mesa County. See the following link for a brief summary of the project: http://www.usbr.gov/uc/feature/HorsethiefC/index.html. It is anticipated that this requirement will be procured as a competitive HUBZone set-aside in accordance with FAR Parts 15 and 19. The solicitation is projected to be released sometime in April 2011, but is subject to change. The estimated price range for the magnitude of construction, including the option work, is between $1,000,000 and $5,000,000. The designated NAICS code for this requirement is 236220 - Hatchery Construction. The contract is expected to contain an option for additional work as described below. The principal components of the work involve the following tasks: Basic Contract: Placing reinforced, cast-in-place concrete for kettle structures, pond stairs, pond sidewalks, foundation and slab for a metal building, gate footing slab, weir wall in a drain pipe manhole structure. Fabrication and installation of miscellaneous metalwork and metalwork in the pump station. Fabrication and installation of guardrail on the kettle structures, pond stairs and pump station. Fabrication and installation of walkway grating for the kettle structures and galvanized grating for the kettle structures, drain pipe manhole structure and pump station. Fabrication and installation of aluminum fish screens for the kettle structures. Construction of an interior wall and room for a metal building. Fabrication and furnishing wood stop log logs for the kettle structures. Furnishing and installing steel doors and frames for the metal building. Furnishing and installing overhead doors for the metal building. Furnishing and installing aluminum windows for the metal building. Design, furnish and install an aquatic aeration system. Designing, furnishing and constructing a 30 foot by 70 foot metal building. Furnishing a design for the foundation and slab for the metal building. Furnishing and installing limited runs of buried electrical conduit. Furnishing and installing direct evaporative coolers for the metal building. Furnishing and applying dust palliative on the Horsethief Canyon Road and the existing access road for construction traffic. Removal of water from excavations. Clearing and grubbing. Placing and compacting embankment. Furnishing, placing and compacting select backfill beneath concrete structures. Performing excavation for ponds and cast-in-place concrete structures. Performing earthwork for pipe trenches which includes excavation, backfill and compacted backfill. This work includes construction of a 1,000 foot long infiltration gallery with gravel filter pack. Furnishing and placing controlled low strength material for portions of the 18-inch drain pipe. Furnishing and placing geotextile fabric. Furnishing and placing gravel surfacing. Furnishing and installing chain link fencing and gate. Seeding designated areas that have been disturbed. Furnishing and placing a precast manholes for the drain pipe, pump station and valve pit. Furnishing and laying various sizes of PVC and HDPE pipe and fittings. Furnishing and installing various sizes of suspended PVC pipe and fittings in the metal building. Furnishing and installing various sizes and types of buried valves. Furnishing and installing various sizes of suspended valves in the metal building. Furnishing and installing yard hydrants. Furnishing and installing two submersible turbine pumps in the pump station. Furnishing and installing various sizes of aluminum canal gates in the kettle structures. Furnishing and installing one 24-inch canal gate in the drain pipe manhole structure. Furnishing and installing 4-inch flap gates in the kettle structures. Furnishing and installing one 18-inch flap gate. Furnishing and installing pond liner in the fish ponds. Option Requirements: Furnishing sixteen 48-inch diameter fish tanks. Furnishing two rectangular fish troughs. Furnishing and installing a walk-in cooler in the metal building for storing fish food. Furnishing a walk-behind sweeper for cleaning the fish ponds. Furnishing a utility vehicle. Upgrade the metal building's roof and wall systems to be factory insulated panels.
