- Description
- Western Area Power Administration has a requirement for a contractor to provide all labor, materials, equipment, transportation and other resources to complete this project. The principal components of the work involve additions to White Substation in an existing high voltage electrical substation, including constructing new concrete foundations, furnishing and installing galvanized steel structures, installing Government-furnished major outdoor electrical equipment, providing high-voltage electrical bus system, grounding system, conduit system, and other additional items as described on the drawings and specifications. The work is located in Brookings County, near White, South Dakota. This solicitation is 100% Small Business Set-Aside and the NAICS code is 327130. The estimated construction magnitude of this project is between $250,000 and $500,000. All work is to be completed within 120 calendar days from issuance of the Notice to Proceed. All responsible business concerns may submit a bid which shall be considered by this Agency. A pre-bid site visit will not be held. Any non-U.S. (Foreign National) visiting or working at any Western Area Power Administration facility must receive prior written approval from the appropriate Western Security Manager. The solicitation, specifications and drawings, and any subsequent amendments will only be available in electronic format, downloadable from the internet. No CD-ROMs or hardcopy documents will be distributed. Interested parties can download the solicitation at http://www.fbo.gov on or about April 7, 2011 and the projected bid opening date is May 10, 2011. It is the responsibility of the bidders to monitor the website for notices and amendments. Note: All bids for this IFB shall be mailed to Western Area Power Administration, 200 4th Street SW, Huron, SD 57350-2474.
