- A market survey is being conducted to determine if there are a reasonable number of interested small business concerns to set this future project aside for them. If your firm is a Small Business, certified HUBZONE, 8A, Small Disadvantaged or Service Disabled Veteran Owned Business and you are interested in this project please respond appropriately. The proposed project is for the construction of the Renovation of the Wright-Patterson AFB Medical Center to modern clinical and operational standards. The construction entails the relocation, reorganization, and modernization of inpatient and outpatient departments consisting of clinical, surgical, support administrative and ancillary spaces. The project includes very minimal new construction. Renovated areas total approx. 200K SF vs. total hospital space of 600K SF. The extent of renovation varies with particular areas ranging from total gutting interior spaces for the 4th and 5th floors, operating room suites, and kitchen/dining area, to cosmetic repairs/upgrades only in other areas. There are substantial repairs/replacement of mechanical, electrical, water and medical gases plumbing, fire protection, alarming, and communication systems. There will be swing space provided outside the existing hospital to relocate some functions during renovations and the Contractor will have control of the space, while other areas will be reworked with hospital functions maintained in place. New furniture and equipment purchases and installation are required as well as storage and reuse of existing is required. The project also includes roofing repairs and other roof associated repairs, in particular replacement of lightening protection system and mechanical equipment repair/replacement. The project also includes upgrades in the central plant area to emergency generator controls and chillers. Contract duration is estimated at 1,043 Days. The estimated cost range is between $100,000,000 and $250,000,000. NAICS is 236220. All interested Small Businesses, certified HUBZONE, 8A, or Service Disabled Veteran Owned Business contractors should respond to this survey by email NLT 04/01/2011 by 12:00 Noon Eastern Standard Time. Responses should include: (1) Identification and verification of the company's small business status. (2) The level of performance and payment bonding capacity that the company could attain for the proposed project. (3) Descriptions of Experience - describe completed projects that are similar in size and scope to the proposed project, the percentage of self-performed work, how that was accomplished and the performance rating for the work, (3) Capability of obtaining performance and payment bonds for the project in the dollar range listed above, (4) a statement verifying the contractor will self-perform 20% of the work and how it will be accomplished.(4) A statement of the portion of the work that will be self performed on this project, and how it will be accomplished.
