- Description: The National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences (NIEHS), Research Triangle Park, NC intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with Becton, Dickinson, and Company, San Jose, CA 95131, pursuant to 41 U.S.C.253(c)(1)-Only one responsible source and no other supplies or service will satisfy agency requirements. This purchase is for maintenance renewal of a FACSARIA II Special to include (1) each of the following: 1) FACSARIA II Special, Material No:643695, Serial # P69500147, Product #643925; 2) Laser Sapphire, Material No:642339, Serial #NO serial-5593, Product #646989; 3)Laser COHR Cube 640-40-Red, Material No:641968, Serial #NO serial-5594, Product #647310; 4)Laser Compass 561-50 LT GRN, Material No:644141, Serial #NO Serial-5595, Product #647312, 5)Laser violet 405-100, Material NO:643914, Serial #NO-serial-5596. Period of service is April 1, 2011- December 31, 2011. Maintenance service for the High-Throughput Sampler is as follow: (1) each of the following: 1)High-Throughput Sampler, Material No:338301, Serial No:U30100513. Period of service is April 9, 2011-December 31, 2011. Becton, Dickinson and Company is the manufacturer and sole distributor of this equipment. No third party companies are allowed to service their equipment. Interested parties may identify their interest and capability. Respond to this requirement by submitting written capabilities/specifications to the Purchasing Agent at the address stated above. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposal; however, all responses received within 8 days from the date of publication of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract action based upon responses to this notice is solely with the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. If no affirmative responses are received within 8 days of this notice to determine whether a qualified source is note advantageous to the Government, an order will be placed with Becton, Dickinson and Company. The NAICS Code /Size is 811219/7.0M. This procurement is to be processed using Simplified Acquisition Procedures in conjunction with FAR Part, 12, Acquisition of Commercial Items and is not expected to exceed the Simplified Acquisition threshold of $100,000.
