- Request for Information (RFI) EYE-SAFE BINOCULAR LASER RANGEFINDERS USED FORLAW ENFORCEMENT OPERATIONS TO MEASURE THE DISTANCE TO A TARGET WITH AN ACCURACYOF +/- ONE YARD/METER. SUBMISSIONS DUE: 25 MARCH 2011. The Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center (SPAWARSYSCEN) Atlantic, AdvancedTechnology Branch (Code 52130) is seeking information on commercialoff-the-shelf (COTS), eye-safe binocular laser rangefinders used for lawenforcement operations to measure the distance to a target with an accuracy of+/- one yard/meter. The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) AuthorizedEquipment List (AEL) item number for this equipment is AEL# 03OE-02-LASR. Thetarget audience for this information is the emergency responder community andall submittals should be suited to their specific needs. Review of this inforamtion is being performed for the DHS System Assessment andValidation for Emergency Responders (SAVER) Program, which aims to conductobjective comparative assessments and validation of commercial equipment andsystems and provide those results to the emergency responder community. Allinformation received will be treated as public knowledge and may be used inSAVER Program documentation; therefore, vendors should not submit proprietaryinformation in response to this RFI. Specific Informatino sought inclueds:1. Company informatino, including name, address, and URL.2. Whether the company is a manufacturer or distributor.3. A point of contact for follow-up information, and the point of contact'sphone number and e-mail address.4. Product name and a brief description (75 words or less).5. Cost information such as purchase price and General Services Administration(GSA) schedule information. The submitted information will be evaluated for inclusion in SAVER projects.If a SAVER project on this type of equipment is executed, the equipmentselection will be based upon a number of factors, including emergency respondersurveys and responder focus group inputs. Consequently, follow-up requests forfeedback should not be made through Federal Business Opportunities postingagency. Vendors may be contacted following submission for more detailedproduct informatoin. Vendor provided information may be reformatted forpublication in SAVER Program documents. SubmittalsRespondents are required to complete the attached prodcut summary questionnaire(Laser Rangefinder_RFI_pub.pdf) for each product following the instructions onthe first page of the questionnaire.
