- The NAVSUP Fleet Logistics Center-Norfolk, Norfolk Naval Shipyard Maritime Industrial Division intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with Wartsila Defense, Inc., 3617 Koppens Way, Chesapeake, VA 23323, as the only responsible source that can perform installation of port and starboard rudder stock seal assembly aboard a naval vessel because Wartsila is the OEM of this equipment and as such has the proprietary rights to the drawings and technical information necessary to perform this service. The service will be acquired in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 12 - Acquisition of Commercial Items and FAR Part 13 - Simplified Acquisition Procedures. The procurement will be solicited on an unrestricted basis. The intended procurement will be classified under North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) 488390 with a Small Business Size Standard of $7.0 million employees. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals and no solicitation document exists for this requirement. A determination by the Government not to compete based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
