- Description
- The US Army (USA) and United States Special Operations Command (USSOC) have previously purchased and fielded the Rover V, Rover VI, and Vortex radios from L-3 Communications Corporation, Nardia Microwave West (L-3). The Naval Warfare Center Aircraft Division, Lakehurst, intends to solicit and negotiate a Repair Contract with L-3. for the repair, upgrade, and possible replace of Rover V, Rover VI, and Vortex radios on a sole source basis. The Government intends to procure these repairs/modification acitions under the authority of 10 USC 2304(c)(1) as implemented by the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Section 6.302-1. L-3 is considered the only repair source, as they are the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM). However, the Government will consider all responses received within 30 days after the publication of this synopsis. A determination by the Government not to open this requirement to competition based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received as a result of this notice of intent will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. Technical data packages are not available to the Government at this time. Without the technical data, it would not be possible for any other source to perform the necessary repairs or replace the existing radios.
