- This amendment is issued to give the intended scope of the Test Execution Services and Launch Augmentation (TESLA) Acquisition since many requested difference in TESLA and D3I at the D3I Industry Day. The U.S. Army Space and Missile Defense Command/Army Forces Strategic Command (USASMDC/ARSTRAT)Test Execution Services and Launch Augmentation (TESLA) acquisition is planned as a competitive bridge between our current Lethality Testing and Criteria Development contract and the planned Design, Development, Demonstration and Integration (D3I) acquisition. Services to be acquired under TESLA will satisfy near term testing objectives (to include program requirements, component development, procurement, conceptual design, analysis, fabrication, integration, demonstration and execution), as well as flight test support. TESLA is designed to avoid any disruption of services pending the award of D3I. The term of TESLA will be 24 months, and will include two 12-month options periods, providing a graceful transition to D3I. The following is a tentative schedule for TESLA. This schedule does not include all of the SMDC/ARSTRAT internal reviews. Every effort will be made to accelerate this schedule.
