- Portable Medical Suction Units - DUE: April 20, 2011 The Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center (SPAWARSYSCEN) Atlantic, AdvancedTechnology Branch (Code 52130) is seeking information on commercially-availablemedical suction units and devices that enable suctioning of patient airways.The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Authorized Equipment List (AEL) itemnumber for this equipment is 09ME-02-SUCT: Suction Units Equipment. The primaryfocus is on portable suction units that are battery operated. The targetaudience for this information is emergency medical technicians (EMTs), and allsubmittals should be suited to their specific needs. Review of this information is being performed for the DHS System Assessment andValidation for Emergency Responders (SAVER) Program, which aims to conductobjective comparative assessments and validation of commercial equipment andsystems and provide those results with the emergency responder community. Formore information on the SAVER Program, visit https://www.rkb.us/saver. All information received will be treated as public knowledge and may be used inSAVER Program documentation; therefore, vendors should NOT submit proprietaryinformation in response to this RFI. Specific information sought includes:1. Company information, including name, address, URL, revenue, and number ofemployees.2. Whether the company is a manufacturer or distributor.3. A point of contact for follow-up information, and the point of contact'sphone number and e-mail address.4. Product name and a brief description (75 words or less) of each suction unit.5. Cost information such as purchase price and General Services Administration(GSA) schedule information. The submitted information will be evaluated for inclusion in SAVER projects.If a SAVER project on this type of equipment is executed, the equipmentselection will be based upon a number of factors, including responder surveysand focus group inputs. Consequently, follow-up requests for feedback shouldnot be made through Federal Business Opportunities posting agency. Vendors maybe contacted following submission for more detailed product information.Vendor provided informatino may be reformatted for publication in SAVER Programdocuments.
