- The Cherry Point Satellite Contracting Office, Marine Corps Air Station (MCAS), Cherry Point, NC 28533 hereby gives notice of intent to award a sole source purchase order to Sargent Fletcher Inc, 2734 Hickory Grove Road, Davenport, IA 52804, (Cage Code: 72429) as implemented by the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 6.302-1, only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. Market research has revealed this contractor is the manufacturer who maintains the proprietary drawing and is the only source capable of providing the required item. The Fleet Readiness Center (FRC) East Support Team, MCAS Cherry Point, NC intends to procure one(1)each in-flight-refueling (IFR) Pod and Pylon Assembly, part number 3277001-0401, as required to fulfill the Government ™s requirement for the KC-130J aircraft. This pod is unique to the KC-130J. The KC-130J is equipped with a unique capability in the new pod known as Rapid Ground refueling (RGR). This RGR capability is used to pass fuel to receiver aircraft on the ground or into rubber storage bladders at forward operating bases and requires a new pump, plumbing and RGR port with access panels on the nose of the pod. All of this RGR equipment is unique to the KC-130J and is only available from Sargent Fletcher, Inc. THIS NOTICE OF INTENT IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE QUOTES. However, all quotes received within fifteen (15) days after the date of publication of this synopsis will be considered. Interested parties may identify their interest and unique capabilities to respond to this requirement or submit their quote. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
