- The VA National Acquisition Center intends to issue Request for Proposal (RFP) VA-797-11-RP-0066 under the competitive negotiated procedures for Valproic Acid. Please see the item and estimated annual usage listed below. The estimated annual usage includes Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Department of Defense (DOD), Indian Health Services (IHS), Federal Healthcare Center (FHCC), and Bureau of Prisons (BOP). The contract period will be for the base year and two option years. The contract item will be distributed through VA ™s and DOD ™s respective Pharmaceutical Prime Vendors. A contract will be awarded to the responsible offeror that will be able to provide an uninterrupted source of supply for the contracted drug. To be considered for award, offerors are required to submit a proposal for the base year and two option periods. Proposals that fail to include prices for the base year and the two, one-year options on which an offer is made will be rejected and receive no further consideration. Products offered must be FDA compliant. Offerors must state the exact (name that appears on label) by which the drug will be supplied and products proposed must have unique 11-digit NDC number. Capsules must be compatible with automated dispensing units (Baxter ATC Canister, Optifil, etc). If the offeror is not a manufacturer, a signed agreement between the offeror and the manufacturer must be submitted with the offer. Solicitation VA-797-11-RP-0066 will be electronically issued in commercial item format in accordance with FAR Part 12 on or about March 28, 2010 with an estimated closing date of April 24, 2011. The NAICS code for this procurement is 325412. Any future amendments and other miscellaneous documents will be available electronically for download at the following URL: http://www.fedbizopps.gov. No paper copies of the solicitation will be available, and no telephone request for paper copies of the solicitation will be accepted.
