- FBO NOTICE - SHORT SELECTION PROCESS FOR INFORMATION PURPOSES ONLY. The U.S. Forest Service, Wayne National Forest, contemplates issuing Solicitation No. AG-55N9-S-11-0004 in anticipation of award of a firm-fixed price for Geotechnical Evaluation Services at, Ironton Ranger District, Ironton, OH. Evaluation and award will be made in accordance with FAR Part 36.6, Architect and Engineer Services. This requirement is 100% set-aside for procurement under FAR 19.10, Small Business. The Product Service code is C211. The NACIS Code is 541380. The Small Business Size Standard is $12.5 Million. The successful vendor will be selected from SF 330s currently on file with US Forest Service Eastern Region. DESCRIPTION: The successful vendor shall furnish all labor, supervision, materials (except Government-furnished), transportation, equipment, tools, operating supplies, and incidentals to complete the work specified. WORK DESCRIPTION: Work will consist of providing geotechnical evaluations of three slips and one bridge site damaged on July 20, 2010, in a heavy rain event. This event resulted in three mass failures on Forest Development Roads (FDR) 1957 and 1955 and the undermining and failure of double steel arch culvert on County Road 29. See attached vicinity map for locations of the project area and site locations. Geotechnical investigation will consist of drilling into the subsoil and locating suitable foundation strata at two locations at each site as shown on provided drawings. Provide a written report and geotechnical recommendation for each damage site to the Forest Service. The selected geotechnical firm will provide the data as detailed in the full RFP for each of the sites and pricing as per the schedule of items in the RFP. Final report will require sealing by a registered professional engineer in good standing, licensed in Ohio with a specialty of foundations and geotechnical engineering.
