Description
THE U.S. BROADCASTING BOARD OF GOVERNORS (BBG), INTERNATIONAL BROADCASTING BUREAU (BBG/IBB), HAS A REQUIREMENT TO AWARD A FIRM FIXED PRICE COMMERCIAL ITEM CONTRACT TO A SINGLE CONTRACTOR IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE FORMAT IN SUBPART 12.6 OF THE FEDERAL ACQUISITION REGULATIONS (FAR) AS SUPPLEMENTED WITH ADDITIONAL INFORMATION INCLUDED IN THE REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL (RFP) USING THE FULL AND OPEN COMPETITIVE PROCUREMENT PROCESS. THE SOLICITATION IS EXPECTED TO BE POSTED ON THE FEDERAL BUSINESS OPPORTUNITIES (FEDBIZOPPS) WEBSITE ON OR ABOUT MARCH 31, 2011. The Contractor shall provide a standard unframed DS3, 45 Mb/s Duplex Fiber Optic Cable connectivity between the BBG/IBB Network Control Center (NCC) located in Room 2140C 330 Independence Avenue, SW, Washington, DC 20237 and the BBG/IBB Lampertheim Transmitting Station located at Ausserhalb, Wildbahn 6, 68623, Lampertheim, Germany. The Contractor shall provide the standard duplex DS3 fiber optic cable connection with a female BNC connector interface on both the NCC and Lampertheim ends of the DS3 end-to-end link availability must meet or exceed 99.995%. The DS3 on the TransAtlantic fiber must be on a TransAtlantic fiber optic cable that has a contingency restoral capability with another TrnasAtlantic fiber optic cable. The contract term will be for a period of one (1) year after date of award with six (6) one year renewal option periods. The Government does not intend to award a contract on the basis of this notification or otherwise pay for information or inquiry.
