- Description
- The U.S. Department of the Interior (DOI), Zion National Park, intends to issue a solicitation for Rock Fall Barrier Fencing. The Maintenance department requires a rock fall safety barrier fence be installed behind their support buildings located at the Maintenance Yard, Zion National Park, SR-9, Springdale, UT, 84767. The project requires contractor knowledge and ability to model the size and type of system required using the GEOBRUGG Modeling program to the correct kilojoule range considering the rock type, slope percentage and vertical distance and have capability to professionally install this system in order to meet resource protection standards of the National Park System. The system must be installed with minimal impact to the slope and provide transparency in the visual effect. The buildings are historical, therefore materials should blend in with the environmental backdrop. A construction project is anticipated with an estimated price range between $250,000 and $500,000. The Contractor shall provide all materials (to include shipping), labor, equipment, and installation. SOCIOECONOMIC PROGRAMS: This procurement is a set aside for small business. For information purposes, the North American Industry Classification Code (NAICS) is 237310, Highway, Street, and Bridge Construction, with a size standard of $33.5M. NOTE: The solicitation package will be available via electronic commerce at http://ideasec.nbc.gov and http://www.fedbizopps.gov in accordance with FAR Subpart 4.5 and 5.102(a)(1); therefore, hard copies will not be provided. The solicitation will be issued on or about March 30, 2011 with offers due on or about April 30, 2011. The solicitation will be competitive proposals and will be evaluated in accordance with FAR Subpart 15.304 using technical evaluation criteria and past performance with award to the contractor who meets the best value to the government. In addition, offerors are required to be registered and current in the Central Contractor Registration (CCR) to be eligible for contract award.
