The requirement is for innovative concepts directed toward advancing the state-of-the-art, or enhancing capabilities of current and emerging science and technology solutions and approaches in support of the Project National Shield (PNS) initiative. HBTSD is focused on being a provider of network-centric, interoperable and interactive solutions to transform the Battlespace and secure the Homeland. HBTSD initiative focuses on the systemic challenges facing DOD in its Homeland Defense (HLD) and Defense Support of Civil Authorities (DSCA) mission sets with the goal of improving joint military and civilian capabilities to integrate and assess mature component systems that can also meet urgent warfighter needs. This effort is in support of ARDECs interoperable system of systems integration initiatives under the PNS program which will enable information sharing, data fusion and domain awareness.
