- NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD SOLE SOURCEUSFWS Region 7 Notice of intent to award a sole source contract to: Advanced Telemetry Inc, Advanced Telemetry Inc. will provide Radio tags to complete 4th year of Togiak River Chinook Salmon Spawning Abundance, Distribution and Run-timing Study. Specific supplies are as follows:-Two hundred (200) implant radio tags consistent with ATS model # F1840B tags with mortality codes as follows: 163.00-164.00 Mhz; Pulser R 45.8 ppm; Pulser W30 ms;weight 22 g; warranty life 63 d; battery life 127 d; antenna option 16in, 45# steel with CLR, NO FIT; bottle shape; coded with mortality circuit 8 hr. Pulse codes to be divided between 10 of the 16 approved frequencies: Estimated value: $34,740.Shipping by May 1, 2011. 2011 is the 4th year of the Togiak River Chinook Salmon Spawning Abundance, Distribution and Run-timing Study. This project was initiated in 2008 with ATS coded tags and tracking equipment (receivers and antennas). USFWS already has a substantial investment in tracking equipment for this project (9 receivers and antenna valued ~ $70,000). Continuation of this project necessitates that new tags be trackable with this equipment. Further, there were some recovered ATS tags from 2010 that will be deployed in 2011. New tags for 2011 must dovetail with these existing pulse codes and frequencies. ATS (Advanced Telemetry Systems) is a reliable and established provider of telemetry equipment for fish and wildlife applications. ATS coded tags have a proprietary signal that only interfaces with our existing ATS tracking equipment. Likewise, the existing ATS tracking equipment will only correctly decode ATS-manufactured coded tags. ATS is the sole distributor of their telemetry equipment This Notice of Intent is not a request for Expressions of Interest (EOIs), proposals or quotations. This supply will be procured under Firm Fixed Price Supply in accordance with FAR part 12 procedures and Other Than Full and Open Competition as authorized IAW FAR 6.302-1(b)(4) The anticipated award date is March 15, 2011 Point of contact for this acquisition is Randall Miller at (907)786-3466
